Course Overview

This specialist course has been designed for students and professionals in the field of oil and gas. Students will already have a good standard of English, but still wish to improve their language skills within this industry, covering writing, listening, speaking and reading.
Areas of study featured in the course include, health and safety,risk assessment and accidents at the workplace, identifying and describing objects, equipment, processes and procedures. The language of meetings, negotiations and presentations, as well as Impact on the environment will also be covered. This course can only run with a minimum of six students enrolling.

Course Content

The topics that will be covered:

• Grammar and vocabulary specific to the oil and gas industry

• Speaking, reading, writing, listening

• Pronunciation and phonology

• Oil and Gas specific idiomatic language

• Learning tasks including presentations and role-plays

Timetable and Fees

Lessons run mornings and afternoons. Courses are either 15, 20 or 25 hours per week. Lessons are three, four or five hours per day in the morning or in the afternoon. Maximum class size for all lessons is 16 students. There is a registration fee of £60 and a resources fee of £40.

Entry Requirements

The Oil and Gas English course is open to students from intermediate to proficiency levels. Previous study is not necessary, but this will influence the level which you achieve when you join the school.
